October is Potato Month

Not really a Food Storage Item, But it is a good buy and
wanted everyone know that it is available.

We have someone that has ties to Idaho and get
50 lb sacks of Potato's for Cheap. 

Not sure of the price but it is cheap and we
will let you know as soon as we find out the
price you can get them for. 

We are going to take it easy for a while till Christmas
is over.   We may do some more Dry Pack for
those that would like to do this the 1st of November.

The Best way to prepare for the future is to pay
cash for Christmas and not use your Credit Cards.
I know when we started doing this , we felt as if
a Large load was taken off our shoulders.  This
was a start for us to start saving and paying cash
for almost everything including Cars.    This might
be the year that Christmas is alittle thin but you
paid for it in Cash !!!!!!   Best Wishes

I know we already have our July Specials,  However 

I could not pass in offering some Honey this month. 

I have been doing a lot of talking to the local Bee

Keepers as well as the Interstate Bee Sellers. Due 

to the long spring they are expecting a slim 

harvest of Honey this year.  This means prices 

will be going up.  One of the local guys up 

in Honeyville says his prices could go up $30

per bucket this year.  60 lb bucket.  Instead 

of $165 he will be charging $195 possibly he

says. Just depends on supply and demand.

Ogden, which is the best to get if you like 

using this Raw Honey to help with allergies.

Wake up Call for those that have money in the bank but not Food Storage

If you have money in the bank and do not have your

Food Storage I would be going tomorrow to get at

least a 1 Yr supply of food . 

You may not be aware that the Church prices on
Dried foods went up 11% to 49%  in just 3 months.
The Church is usually the last to go up in prices.

Am I saying, if you do not have money to go in debt
and get your food storage , NO !.  The Prophets
have told us not to go in debt in buying food
storage. If you are truly doing all you can to get
your food storage then you are doing what we
have been asked to do. 

Ways you can save money to buy Food Storage.
Some families go out to eat or buy fast food
2 plus times a week.  Cut this down and you
will have more money to spend on Food storage.

Some people will start using coupons for food
and save money this way.  There are internet
sites that will help with this.  There are also
clubs on line that will trade coupons . Start
trading with your friends. 1/2 the coupons may
be for items you never use however your
friends may use them. This can be a fun thing
to do to save money.

Just remember that if we are doing everything
the Lord has commanded us to do , including
what he has told us to do through the prophets
we have no need to fear. 

Remember when Noah built the Ark it
was not raining and he did it one board
at a time.

Water Purifier money due please.

We are about to order the Water Purifiers.  We have had

40 people sign up for the purifiers and so far only 18

of these are paid for.   

I would like to have the money collected by Wednesday,

April 20th if possible.   If we can get 30 of these

paid for we will be able to give you back some money

due to being able to get a bigger discount.  

Money due is $121  for the Outbacker at ESP water treatment.

This includes shipping as well.  This complete system should

handle approx. 1800 gallons.

are combining for a Community Prepardness Fair .  This

will be held April 30th.  9:00 am to Noon.  This will be

held at Farr West Elementary school 2190 W. 2700 N.

Helpful Tips on Wheat and websites to visit.

We have had a few people ask about the 

different Wheat that is available to store. 

Red Wheat:  Great all round wheat. 

                     Can make cereal, bread

                      and muffins and pancakes.

            However :   Cereal is very good.

                                Breads and pancakes

                                 it is way to heavy for

                                 these items to turn out

                                 well or even taste well

                                 in my opinion.       

*** If you have a lot of this get some Vital Wheat Gluten and
       add this in to lighten your wheat so it will turn out better.

          White Wheat :  Best used for nice Bread

        Soft Wheat  :   Best used for pancakes and Muffins

                                 or anything you would use Baking 

                                 Powder or soda in.  Not Yeast

                                  recipes.

Water Storage Tips

Some of you will be purchasing the big blue 55 gal. barrels
to put your water in to store.  I would try to keep this in your
basement or garage.  Leaving outsidewould be a last resort . 
  It is said that every 6 months you should test your water 
that you have stored if it is for drinking.  I would at least rotate
your water if it is kept in a cool dry place every 2 years. 

They say you can use 2 tablespoons of( non scented 
or non freshners )type bleach in  55 gallons of water.  
If not filling it all the way use discretion.

Water Purification Units

This is another item that we should all have to help us 
get through any tough times.  
Water as we all know is the most important thing to surviving

during a disaster or to live period. 

I think the Red Cross says that we need 1 gallon per 
person of water /day.   I have read other places that
you can get buy with a 1/2 a gallon / person . You
be the judge.

We are currently working on getting a great deal on a 
Purification System.

We are trying to decide between two different systems.

Here are the two websites that have the units we are comparing.

"The Outback" system.

The outback is less expensive but from what I can tell is just

as good as the LP5, however I am still studying this out.

We hope to offer this for our buy of the month
for April.   
The LP5 would cost about $119 for the basic
    unit that would do about 1500 gallons.
    You would then need another element or filter,
     these run about $59 unless we buy
     a case then we get 30% off. We would need
     to add shipping to these prices.


"The Outback" would be $121 for the basic 
      unit , that would do 1800 gallons. 
      If we purchase 20 of these we can get
      this price which includes shipping. 
      The reg. price for the replacement parts
       to purify more gallons is about $62.
       We should be able to get this for less
       if we buy the parts in bulk.  


With just using the basic units the Outback
seems to give more water faster. 6 gal in
an hour.  The LP5 will do 20 gal a day 
approx.  With 3 extra filters it will do 
50 gal per day. 

For many of us , it is not easy to come up with

this much extra cash in a month.  That is why

we are giving you a lot of notice. If we all

start saving our pennies by April 20th maybe

we can do it. We would need the money by

April 20th please.

                                               asking $150 for one of these barrels. 

I am working on a Deal that we can possibly get these barrels for $40 each.
Who is interested?  How many would you like to get?  I would say every
family should have at least one of these barrels and a Water Purifier of some type.
